FAQ
When will the order ship?
We will arrange for the warehouse to ship your order within 48 hours of receiving your payment and will deliver it to you as soon as possible.
Which countries/regions do you ship to? How are shipping costs calculated?
This pre-order is limited to the United States. You can view the shipping policy and costs here: Shipping Policy.
Is the controller waterproof? Will water splashes damage it during cutting?
The controller features a separate design and is not fully waterproof. Water splashes generated during normal cutting will not damage the controller, but do not immerse the controller in water. We recommend keeping the controller at least 30 cm (11.8 in) away from the cutting area. If the controller gets wet, wipe it dry with a clean cloth before continuing to use it.
Tip: During cutting, place a dry cloth near the controller. Always dry your hands before operating the controller.
How much power does the motor have? Will it overheat if it runs continuously?
Rated power: 400 W; motor torque: 1.1 N·m; maximum speed: 5,000 rpm. The unit features a built-in temperature monitoring system that automatically triggers an alarm if the temperature exceeds safe limits. It is recommended to let the motor and blades cool down for 15–20 minutes after every 2–3 hours of continuous operation.
What is the Pause/Resume function, and how do I use it?
The controller has separate PAUSE and RESUME buttons (not the power button). During cutting, press PAUSE to temporarily stop the cutting operation. Press RESUME to continue cutting at the previously set speed, without having to readjust the RPM.
Why use a handheld controller instead of mounting the controls directly on the machine?
This was one of the key considerations in the ToAuto Smart Cutting Machine design. The separate handheld controller provides three main benefits:
1. Improved Wet-Cutting Safety
Gemstone cutting involves water. Moving the electronic control interface away from the main machine helps physically separate the electronic controls from the wet cutting environment, significantly reducing the risk of water entering the electronic control system.
2. Better Operating Visibility
During cutting, your attention should be on the Cutting Blade and workpiece—not on the side of the machine. The handheld controller can be held in your hand or positioned in front of you, allowing you to adjust the speed and monitor cutting progress without having to look around the side of the machine.
3. Future Expandability
The controller firmware can be upgraded to support additional cutting modes and functions without replacing the machine itself.
How do I choose between the 6" and 8" models?
The main consideration is the size of the material you plan to cut:
- 6" (G6 Pro): Uses a 150 mm / 6" Cutting Blade with a maximum straight-cut depth of approximately 33 mm (1.3 in). By rotating the workpiece as you cut, it can handle round material up to approximately 66 mm (2.6 in) in diameter, such as agate nodules and river stones. Its compact worktable makes it well suited for jewelry making, smaller gemstones, and users with limited workspace.
- 8" (G8 Max): Uses a 200 mm / 8" Cutting Blade with a maximum straight-cut depth of approximately 60 mm (2.4 in). By rotating the workpiece as you cut, it can handle round material up to approximately 120 mm (4.7 in) in diameter. Its larger worktable is better suited for larger rough and batch cutting.
If you mainly work with jewelry and smaller gemstones, the 6" model is generally sufficient. If you regularly cut larger rough, the 8" model is recommended.
What materials can this machine cut?
The gemstone version is designed specifically for cutting stone and lapidary materials. It can cut common materials such as agate, jade, jadeite, jasper, turquoise, opal, quartz, amethyst, and tiger’s eye, as well as glass and semiconductor materials.
What safety features does the machine have?
The ToAuto Smart Cutting Machine includes multiple built-in safety features:
- Emergency Stop: Immediately stops the spindle in an emergency.
- Power-Loss Protection: The machine will not automatically restart when power is restored after an outage.
- Transparent Blade Guard: Partially encloses the cutting area to help contain flying debris.
- Overload Protection: Automatically reduces motor speed when an overload is detected to help protect the machine.
- LED Lighting: Keeps the cutting area clearly visible to help reduce operating errors.
What does the warranty cover? Do I need to return the entire machine if the controller fails?
The machine is covered by a 12-month warranty, the motor by a 6-month warranty, and consumable parts such as Cutting Blades by a 3-month warranty. During the applicable warranty period, parts that fail due to non-user-caused damage are eligible for free replacement or repair.
The controller uses a separate design and can be replaced independently. If the controller fails, please contact customer service. You do not need to return the entire machine. Local after-sales support is available in the United States, and commonly used replacement parts can be shipped quickly.
